Magical Attic

Magical Attic specialises in costumes for little girls, and they've got a historical section.  And commit the crime of lumping the Middle Ages in with the Renaissance.  Which is sort of like saying there's no difference between Victorian fashion and the Regency.  This is a blatantly Medieval design, but they ricochet from descriptions like 'flowing Medieval sleeves' to 'beautiful Renaissance costume.'

And it's not beautiful.  The hat looks shoddy and the dress is crushed velvet.  They never use crushed velvet for colonial dresses, so why use it here?

And by the way, how do the creators of this and this manage to make something Rococo and bill it as Victorian!?

  1. FYI- that medieval/renaissance design in the crushed velvet is a ripoff- well, the hat at least, which you can get the pattern for from McCall's, #5207. Just sayin'.
